The Tank Tour - Not an Open Topped Bus trip!

We opted to take the day tour, not quite the same as being in an open-topped tour bus, to learn from the experts a little of the island and to get a feel for size and position. The ages of folks visiting FI were wide, reflecting  not age but the interests of the visitors.

So many “first” new experiences and not enough time nor space to share but very briefly:

The drive out of the “resort” – a complete misnomer- on the "Dual Carriageway" was  fairly rough to say the least. I am glad I took “Kwells” 30 mins before leaving….nuff said!

Still with closed eyes (couldn’t see much anyway as it was like driving through a tight vegetation tunnel upwards) I listened to our excellent Ranger giving us interesting and ever fascinating details of history and reality on FI. It took us a good hour crossing the island east to west to reach our first stop,  Stonetool Sandblow.
