Pile Valley

Pile Valley is the home of awesome forest giants. More than 60 metres tall these Satinay trees dwarf the palms and rainforest plants which share  the valley.

Pile Valley got its name from the Satinay trees in the area which were once harvested for wharf piles to build the Suez Canal and the London Docks.

Satinay or Fraser Island Turpentine is easily recognised by its deeply furrowed bark and tall straight trunk.
